Concerns are rising from gambling issues as certain online wagering sites and applications have been out of service for close to two weeks.

These affected sites and applications include the following:

  • BetAmerica - Both New Jersey and Pennsylvania – Both sportsbook and online casino
  • Golden Nugget – Sportsbook in New Jersey
  • Resorts Atlantic City – Sportsbook in New Jersey
  • Oregon Scoreboard – Application
  • Resorts AC - Sportsbook

The Oregon application has reopened and currently active for business. The other listed applications await approval from regulators. Everything must check out to be acceptable before reactivation to take wagers and allow customers to access their accounts.

A majority of the sites have simply posted the sites are under maintenance and will be up and running shortly. Subscribed members are quickly becoming outraged by this recent outrage.

BetAmerica Emails Released to Customers

BetAmerica stated: “BetAmerica is powered by SBTech, a third-party. SBTech informed us that its data centers went offline by reason of a cyber attack that resulted in a worldwide outage of its systems.

“According to SBTech, the outage is affecting not only BetAmerica but all of the betting sites using the SBTech platform. SBTech is still investigating the incident.

“SBTech has told us that at this time it does not believe the cyber attack has caused any issues with BetAmerica customer information. We have requested information from SBTech to confirm that point.

“SBTech has assured us that it has been working around the clock to get us back online. We will keep you updated as we receive more information on when our site will be available. We regret the inconvenience, and we thank you for your continued patience.

This is the worst thing that could possibly happen with America’s current issues with the Coronavirus pandemic. Paying customers feel they are being lied to when they open the website and it simply tells them ‘under maintenance.’

Effects to Future Online Gambling

Online gambling throughout the United States is still relatively new, although it has been active for over five years in the state of New Jersey.

Legal sites and applications have an obligation to the gambling community to make additional steps if the online gambling industry to continue growth in the United States.
