Mobile Sportsbook Announced in Iowa With DraftKingsIowa
DraftKings continues its dominance in the sports gaming industry as they announced their expansion in the US with releasing their new mobile sportsbook in Iowa. The new platform will allow any person access within state lines and over the age of 21.
Currently, customers are required to register in person in 2020 to initiate their access. Registration is available at any of the three Wild Rose casinos throughout the state. Their locations include Clinton, Emmetsburg, and Jefferson. This process will be waived beginning January 1, 2021.
Wild Rose Casinos and Resorts
Wild Rose Casinos and Resorts became the most popular area in Iowa gaming with an ‘emphasis of small-town friendliness and the allure of big-city fun.’ The casinos have generated over $49 million for projects within the community and $226 million in state and local fees and taxes. Over fifteen million gamers from 27 countries have shown their faces in these resorts.
Wild Rose casinos initial partnership with DraftKings began in all three land-based sportsbooks since last August. The partnership was due to DraftKings success opening their sports betting operations in New Jersey, quickly spreading to New York, West Virginia, Indiana, and Mississippi. Iowa was beyond excited to join forces with a company focused on growth, consistency, and success.
Matt Kalish, DraftKings Co-Founder and North American President stated, “DraftKings has seen steady fan engagement in Iowa during the past few months at our three Wild Rose sportsbooks across the state, and we couldn’t be more excited to provide customers with our state-of-the-art mobile sports betting platform.
“We have worked diligently to perfect our sportsbook since it launched in 2018, and starting today, we’re proud to offer Iowans a safe and responsible place to wager on sports – one that can be accessed conveniently from the palm of their hands.”
The online platform will include all US professional and collegiate sport outings. NFL and NBA have proved to be the most fruitful to clientele, but closely followed by MLB, NHL, and horse racing.
Tom Timmons, Wild Rose President and Chief Operating Officer, stated, “We believe DraftKings is offering the best mobile app yet to Iowa sports betting enthusiasts. Since we opened the sportsbooks, we have been divulged with requests for this app. We are happy to offer it now, with the NCAA basketball tournament just around the corner.”
