Today (March 9) is the official opening day of the BetRivers Sportsbook. It was introduced today as the first legal sportsbook in Illinois during a 10 am opening ceremony at Rivers Casino Des Plaines. The casino is the largest and most lucrative land-based area for gamers in the state of Illinois.

The previous nightclub within the casino has already initiated renovations creating the new land-based sportsbook. The new landmark will have a 4,840 square foot sports bar and a 47-foot-wide ultra HD LED Video wall. The area will include five betting windows as well as thirty sportsbook kiosks within the Rivers Casino.

BetRivers Excitement Launching in Time For March Madness

Corey Wise, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Rivers Casino, said, “The BetRivers Sportsbook will take March Madness out of the office pool and into an exciting, elevated live sports wagering experience. We are grateful to the Illinois to the Illinois Gaming Board staff for their work approving our sportsbook in time for the college basketball tournament – one of the greatest sports events of the year.”

Attractions Within the Walls of Sports Betting Heaven

Gamers will also have the luxury of a panoramic view of live sports events as they experience the sportsbooks selection of 10 86-inch and four 75-inch HD televisions located throughout the lounge.

A full-service island bar will also be available, allowing seating for 32 customers. The sportsbook will have 26 bar-top video poker games, 29 leather lounge chairs, and additional table seating options. The additional gaming consoles was made possible by the massive gaming expansion package approved by lawmakers in June, 2019, raising the maximum number of gaming positions from 1,200 to 2,000.

“Whether you are a seasoned sportsbook player or a casual fan interested in this new entertainment option, we’re dedicated to an environment where all customers will enjoy themselves in this great venue within our premier casino.,” stated Greg Carlin, CEO and co-founder of Rush Street Gaming, Rivers’ parent company.

BetRivers Expectations of Future Mobile Platform

In addition of the official opening of this sportsbook, BetRivers has also announced their expectation of the launch of and mobile platform is scheduled for later this year.

Bill Carstanjen, CEO of Rivers co-owners Churchill Downs Incorporated, included, “BetRivers Sportsbook meets the high bar established by the team at Rivers Casino Des Plaines as one of the most successful and unique regional gaming destinations in the country. We’re excited to add this top-flight amenity to what is already a premier destination.”
