The talk that has been rising this past week has finally become a reality. As of Friday, July 10, 2020, the gambling community is now available at the Mardi Gras Casino in Black Hawk, Colorado.

Mardi Gras, Golden Gulch, and Golden Gates Casinos Black Hawk are located in the heart of Black Hawk, CO. They are owned by Twin River Worldwide Holdings, Inc., which acquired the properties in early 2020. Before a sportsbook became a future possibility, the three casinos offered a combined offer of more than 650 loose slots, 33 table games, and what is said to be the best poker parlor in the country.

The Mardi Gras Casino becomes the seventh DraftKings-branded land-based retail location, joining Iowa, Mississippi, New Jersey, and New York.

Although this is a potential temporary launch, Colorado will now be granted legal grounds to bet on all major US sports, both online and in person. The permanent sportsbook is underway and will include a large feature bar, an expansive wall of TVs, and VIP Lounge area success.

DraftKings Speak of Newest Endeavor

Ezra Kucharz, DraftKings’ Chief Business Officer, commented on the process of joining this new endeavor with Colorado's sports betting community.

“As our partners at Mardi Gras Casino work to expand their current operations and location, we are thrilled to come together to provide the most exciting, real time gaming opportunities as sports begin to make their return.

DraftKings and Mardi Gras Casino are committed to providing a safe, immersive and entertaining gaming environment to ensure sports fans in Colorado have the most enjoyable experience possible.”

Twin Rivers Speak of the new Partnership

Twin River has opened a temporary land-based sportsbook with eight self-service betting kiosks, a cashier window, and a handful of large flat-screen TVs. This was created to offer temporary access to Coloradans until the construction of the new facility is complete and ready to run.

George Papanier, said, “This partnership with DraftKings allows us to provide unmatched sports betting experience to Coloradans, not only with their mobile betting access but also with this exciting DraftKings retail sportsbook location.

“We are looking forward to introducing our guests to the fully renovated in the coming months and until that time, are glad to be able to give our guests the ability to safety start placing bets as many professional sports begin to resume in the coming weeks.”

Face coverings for all patrons and employees are required, the use of thermometers, mandatory social distancing, and intensified disinfecting protocol will be held in high regard.

It has been made clear that anyone in the gambling public still unsure of being in public situations can also reap the benefits of DraftKings online with both Android and iOS devices. Although competition lures in the background as additional betting platforms also plan to join alliances with Colorado land-based casinos, DraftKings certainly moved in on this deal quickly and efficiently, and now reap the benefits of this partnership.
